Roxboro Road crash kills Durham motorist
A Durham woman died Tuesday in a crash in northern Durham, police said.
She was identified as Krystal Lashay Langley, 24.
Police said the accident occurred shortly before noon at the intersection of North Roxboro Street and Bon Air Avenue when Langley tried to make a left turn from Bon Air to the southbound lanes of North Roxboro.
Investigators said she apparently pulled into the path of a northbound 2008 International box truck driven by Brian Reynolds of Danville, Va.
The front of the box truck hit the driver's side of the 1995 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Langley, causing the car to then collide with a 2007 Mazda 3 driven by Susan Robinson of Hillsborough. Robinson was stopped on North Roxboro Street, waiting to make a left turn onto Bon Air when the accident occurred, police said.
Langley was briefly trapped in her vehicle before she was extricated by Durham firefighters. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Langley's vehicle was a total loss. The truck, owned by Southeast Energy Inc. of Danville, Va., sustained damage to the front left fender. The Mazda was damaged on its front and side.
No charges had been filed Tuesday night. The accident is being investigated.
