Faux-bearded robbers nab cash from burger joint
DURHAM – An employee at the Five Guys Burgers and Fries on the 5300 block of McFarland Drive was forced back into the restaurant on June 26. The employee was in the parking lot about 11:30 p.m. when two men wearing dark clothing, wigs and fake beards.
The suspects were able to nab about $2,583 in cash, a DVR, a jump drive and a Samsung cellphone.
The employee was not injured. The robbery is still under investigation.

• Lamont Brandon, 42 of Durham was arrested last week after Durham Police officers responded to a robbery at an apartment complex on the 900 block of Chalk Level Road. Brandon was arrested and charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Officers found about 15 grams of cocaine on his body when he was arrested, according to his arrest report. Brandon is in custody at the Durham County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
