Energy assistance funds available

Operation Breakthrough Inc., has funds available through the federally funded Home Energy Assistance Program for qualified applicants to make their homes more energy efficient.

HEAP funds, as they are called, can be used to seal major air leaks, install insulation in the attics, walls and floors, make repairs to heating and cooling systems, address carbon monoxide levels and combustion, seal and insulate ducts and multiple other repairs and improvements.   

The income eligibility requirement for a family of four is $47,100 and ranges from $22,980 for a single person to $79,620 for a family of eight.

 In addition, the occupants of a house must be responsible for its utility bill and the heating source must be active

The household must include a U.S. citizen or a documented alien

 Applicants must provide name, date of birth and social security number of each household member along with verification of all household income
