Man charged in shooting outside Los Primos

DURHAM – Police on Tuesday charged Christopher Eugene Hill, 34, of Durham in connection with a shooting Monday evening in the parking lot of Los Primos grocery store at 1109 E. Main St.

Hill was not in custody Tuesday night.

He is wanted on one charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers were called at 5:10 p.m. Monday to a disturbance with a weapon call in the store’s parking lot. A few minutes later, they were sent to the 600 block of East Main Street to check on a man who had been shot.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Investigators determined that the victim was shot during the disturbance in the Los Primos parking lot.


Police suspend search for missing woman

RALEIGH – Raleigh police said Tuesday they have suspended their investigation into the disappearance of a Raleigh woman with ties to the Durham community.

Jim Sughrue, spokesman for the Raleigh Police Department, said in an email that detectives confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the woman, Kimberly Bullock Thomas, left a voicemail message for her family earlier in the day.

“After reviewing the contents of the message with family members, the detectives suspended their active investigation into Thomas’s disappearance,” he said.

Thomas, 45, was last seen by family members Thursday morning when she left her residence in the 9500 block of Vira Drive in Raleigh. She was in Durham a short time later.

Police said foul play was not suspected.


Man robbed of money, phone

DURHAM – A 33-year-old man said he was robbed Friday in the 3000 block of Dearborn Drive. He said cigarettes, $90 and a cell phone, which was recovered, were taken.


In other crime:

- Jewelry worth $10,000 was stolen March 18 from a house in the 1000 block of Calumet Drive.

- Reginald Devon Richardson, 39, was arrested Monday and charged with assault on a female and injury to real property.

- A 47-year-old man said he was robbed March 17 at his home in the 1100 block of Liberty Street of a bracelet, gold watch, wallet, gold chain and rings.
