Duke, UNC face tests on road to the regionals
If the Duke women’s basketball team is going to reach the NCAA regionals for the 15th time in 16 season, the Blue Devils must get past No. 7-seeded Oklahoma State Cowgirls tonight at Cameron Indoor Stadium (7:10 p.m., ESPNU).
Third-seeded North Carolina faces the challenge of playing sixth-seeded Delaware on its home court in Newark — on the night that Blue Hens’ legend Elena Delle Donne will play her last home game (7 p.m., ESPN2).
Duke (31-2) used a balanced scoring attack to get past Hampton 67-51 in the opening round Sunday, led by Tricia Liston with 20 points.
Toni Young leads the Cowgirls (22-10), averaging 16.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
The Blue Devils also are looking to close the 2012-13 season undefeated at home, having won their previous 15 games at Cameron.
