Gunfire damages Durham home

DURHAM – Early Sunday, about 12:40 a.m., someone opened fire on an occupied house in the 2000 block of Spring Creek Drive.
The incident caused an estimated $50,000 damage to the house and $800 damage to a black 2010 Dodge Charger that was parked in the garage, according to a Durham police report.
No one was injured. It’s not clear how many shots were fired or what motivated the attack. Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said the incident remains under investigation. No arrests had been made late Thursday.

In other news:

• Between Dec. 26 and Jan. 6, someone broke into a home in the 1600 block of Ferrell Road in Chapel Hill and stole about $10,000 worth of camera equipment and eight sweaters.
• Latosha Jeanathan Boyd, 30, of Gearwood Street in Durham was arrested Wednesday and charged with identity theft and obtaining property under false pretenses. She was held in the Durham County Jail under $200,000 bond.
• Taniqua Green, 32, of Gearwood Street in Durham was arrested Thursday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and communicating threats. She was held in the Durham County Jail under $30,000 bond.
• Brandon Lee Hawkins, 23, of Marlin Drive in Durham was arrested Wednesday and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property under false pretenses. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $65,000 bond.
• Jermaine Lamont Lunsford Jr., 18, of Overland Drive in Durham was arrested Thursday and charged with common-law robbery, assault and battery and assault in the presence of a minor. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $25,000 bond.
• Kevin Desmar Royster, 25, of Evergreen Street in Durham was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, discharging a firearm in the city and injury to personal property. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $251,000 bond.
• Tim Lamont Thomas, 25, of Summit Street in Durham was arrested Wednesday and charged with resisting an officer, assaulting a law enforcement officer with physical injury and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $7,500 bond.
