Double homicide suspect now in Durham jail
DURHAM – Michael Teon Brown, the South Carolina man charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend at their Cheek Road home in December is now in Durham County Jail.
Authorities arrested Brown last month in Darlington County, S.C., after a shootout in which he was wounded. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Jessica Liriano and Jerron McGirt.
Brown was officially recorded in the Durham jail on Dec. 27, where he’s being held without bond.
In other news:
• On Dec. 26, someone broke into a home in the 500 block of Northcreek Drive in Durham and stole a Nikon camera and a Macbook laptop. Total value of the stolen items was estimated at $2,200.
• On Dec. 28, someone broke into a home in the 700 block of Cross Timbers Drive, causing $1,000 damage to a window and taking $3,000 worth of electronics, including two Apple laptops, two Apple iPad 2 tablets and a stereo system.
• On Dec. 27, Sun Belt Rentals reported the larceny of a mig welder, eight harnesses, three safety cables, two cordless drills, a quicksaw, nailgun, chopsaw and laser. Total value of the stolen items was estimated at $6,915.
