Woman charged with setting fire to house
DURHAM – Jesshia C. Purdie, 28, of Craven Street in Durham was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree arson. Police allege that she set fire to a house belonging to Jenkins Affordable Homes LLC. She was held in the Durham County Jail under $10,000 bond.
In other news:
* Kyle E. Dobson, 26, of Orangewood Drive in Durham, was arrested Tuesday on charges of larceny and obtaining property by false pretenses. He allegedly took a leaf blower valued at about $500 and sold it at National Pawn. He was released from the Durham County Jail after posting a $1,000 bail bond.
* Edward S. Lewis Jr., 45, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and of simple possession of a Schedule VI substance. He allegedly assaulted another man with a knife. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $50,500 bond.
* Keldra Chantelle Lennon Wilson, 26, of Truman Street in Durham was arrested Tuesday for allegedly violating a court order that required her to comply with electronic monitoring. Police say she was outside her residence after curfew and at a location not identified as her place of employment. She was held in the Durham County Jail under $10,000 bond.
