Fire breaks out again at northern Durham house
For the second time in two days, fire broke out Sunday at a house on Craven Street in northern Durham.
No one was home.
Firefighters were called at 5:55 a.m. Sunday to the single-story house at 505 Craven St., off Old Oxford Highway.
“Fire was through the roof when crews arrived at 6 a.m.,” Deputy Chief Chris Iannuzzi of the Durham Fire Department said.
Iannuzzi said the house was unoccupied due to a bathroom fire there Friday night. The residents weren’t home then, either.
He said the cause of both fires is being investigated.
Twenty-six firefighters responded to the Sunday fire and were on the scene for two hours and 15 minutes.
