Durham police nab 11 in heroin bust

A two-month undercover Durham police investigation focused on heroin sales resulted in 11 arrests.

Investigators confiscated 70 grams of heroin, 24.7 grams of cocaine, 10.2 grams of marijuana and 20 grams of Molly, which is similar to Ecstacy, said Kammie Michael, police spokeswoman.

Those arrested in the investigation include:

  • Tedrick Marquise Gooch, 25, of Walton Street. He was charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $5 million bond.
  • Warren Vincent Blue, 43, of East Main Street. He was charged with trafficking heroin, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or delivery of controlled substances, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $1.3 million bond.
  • Timothy Tate, 25, of Statler Drive. He was charged with trafficking heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or delivery of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $1.5 million bond.
  • Brandon Deshawn Neville, 21, of Martha Street. He was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, sale of cocaine, delivery of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or delivery of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $180,000 bond.
  • Kevone Aparacia Best, 27, of Cedar Terrace Road in Chapel Hill. He was charged with possession of Molly with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, maintaining a vehicle for the sale or delivery of controlled substances, sale or delivery of Molly and possession of controlled substances in jail. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $160,000 bond.
  • Harold Demond Sanders, 32, of North Goley Street. He was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Durham County Jail after posting $3,000 bond.
  • Juvontae Gooch, 28, of Walton Street. He was charged with possession of cocaine, destruction of evidence and resisting, delaying and obstructing officers. He was released from the Durham County Jail after posting $5,000 bond.
  • Mario and Marco McLauren, both 47 and both of North Mangum Street. Mario McLauren was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and conspiracy. Marco McLauren was charged with conspiracy. Both were released from the Durham County Jail after posting $10,000 bond.
  • Amy Latta, 38, of Redmond Road. She was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released from the Durham County Jail after posting $1,500 bond.
  • Keithan Pruden, 29, of Morreene Road. He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
