Chapel Hill police investigating death
The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a death that happened hours after a fight broke out at a construction site.
Police were called to the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 7:20 Tuesday morning about a fight.
When they arrived, officials said, one of the two men had left. The one that was still on scene complained of leg pain. He was taken to an area hospital.
Later that afternoon police were notified that the man had died. Authorities do not know if his death is related to the fight earlier in the day. His body is being sent to the State Medical Examiner to determine cause of death.
Charges could come if the medical examiner determines the death was a homicide.
Police are not releasing the identity of the man pending family notification.
