Durham County Sheriff's Office investigators on Monday sought Alex Antonio Cruz Alvarado, a 33-year-old man who's described as a person of interest in the Dec. 11 murder of Saul Botello Abrimz.
Abrimz, 31, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in a rented home on Andrews Chapel Road, off Leesville Road near the Wake County Line. Sheriff’s investigators have said that the killing may have been drug-related.
His body was discovered after a friend of his girlfriend visited the house to check on him after he failed to answer his phone throughout the day, according to a 911 call.
Alvarado, also known as Alex Lainz, is wanted for larceny of a motor vehicle and may be driving a stolen white 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with N.C. license plate BMP-3978.
He has lived at several different Durham locations, including 1707 Avondale Drive, 826 E. Trinity Ave., 5314 Hadrian Drive, 4609 Tyne Drive and 421 Edward St. Deputies think he may also have fled to Conroe, Texas, or to the town of San Pedro in Honduras.
Anyone with information about Alvarado's whereabouts is asked to call Durham CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200 or the Sheriff's Crime Tip Line at 919-560-7151. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to felony arrests and callers never have to identify themselves.
