Man wrecks car, dies after Durham shooting
An argument led to gunfire in Durham on Tuesday, police reported, resulting in a man’s death.
The incident happened just before 6 p.m.
The victim, who hadn’t been identified at press time, managed to get into his vehicle and drive to the intersection of East Main Street and Alston Avenue. There, said police spokeswoman Kammie Michael, his car struck a light pole near a gas station.
The man behind the wheel was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests had been made late Tuesday. No suspect information had been released.
It’s the second murder in the city in the past week. Last Wednesday, police found Shontina Nakeisha Williams, 37, dead on Rocky Creek Trail near Shepard Middle School.
No arrest or suspect information so far in that case.
