Another 20-win season for NCCU
Jeremy Ingram had a career-high 38 points on Monday as N.C. Central got its 20th win of the season with a 76-62 victory over Savannah State.
Ingram went 10 of 20 from the field and 16 of 17 from the free-throw line to surpass his previous career high of 37 back on Dec. 22 against now-No. 3 Wichita State.
NCCU (20-5, 11-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) jumped ahead 15-7 and never trailed.
Savannah State (9-17, 7-5) closed within 24-21, but NCCU responded with an 8-2 run and led 39-31 at halftime.
Jay Copeland added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles, who won their 12th straight game and remain in sole possession of first place in the MEAC.
Savannah State’s Deven Williams had 18 points.
