Durham police investigate weekend shootings
Durham police are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend that left one person dead and one injured.
One of the shootings was reported Sunday around 10:46 a.m. at the intersection of Wabash Street and Ridgeway Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene and found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in the intersection. The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still working the case
The other shooting happened Saturday night on Lee Street.
Officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 600 block at 9:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old man inside his home. He had been shot and was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
The shots appeared to have been fired from outside the house, according to a preliminary investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time.
