Fire damages Durham shed
Fire damaged a shed Monday afternoon in West Durham, but firefighters kept it from spreading.
Chief Dan Curia of the Durham Fire Department said firefighters responded about 2:11 p.m. to the blaze at 139 Fleming Drive and found the shed on fire.
He said firefighters removed lawn mowers and other equipment as they extinguished the blaze.
Property worth about $1,000 was destroyed. No one was hurt.
Curia said firefighters advised the homeowners to have electricians examine the shed before the electricity was turned back on.
There was no word on the cause Tuesday.
