Woman arrested on drug charges
DURHAM - April Juanita Baines, of Clarendon Street in Durham, was arrested Saturday on drug charges.
She was allegedly in possession of .05 grams of rock cocaine and one-half ounce of marijuana. She was released from the Durham County Jail after posting a $500 bond.
In other reports:
- Police arrested William A. Bibby IV, of Forge Road in Durham, in connection with offenses that occurred in March. Bibby is accused of fleeing arrest by driving the wrong way on a one-way street and failing to stop at a steady read light.
He was being held at the Durham County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond for those offenses. He was also held on felony probation violations under a $100,000 secured bond.
- Selena Ann Carter, who has addresses listed on Weldon Terrace and Holloway Street in Durham, was arrested Friday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, injury to personal property, and misdemeanor larceny.
According to a magistrate’s order, she attacked a man with a box cutter, damaging his glasses when she cut his face. Investigators also reported that she stole $35 worth of chopped beef steaks from him.
She was being held at the Durham County Jail under a $35,000 secured bond.
- Donte Lee Smith, of Danube Lane, was arrested Saturday on drug charges. He also allegedly had failed to appear in court on previous charges.
Investigators reported that he possessed and intended to sell, 11.8 grants of cocaine, and also had a plastic baggie to package a controlled substance. He was being held at the Durham County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond on those charges.
He also faced additional charges for failing to appear in court on assault and drug possession. Furthermore, authorities arrested him for misdemeanor probation violation.
