Thieves hit construction site
DURHAM – Property worth more than $3,000 was reported stolen June 10 from a construction site in the 300 block of Swift Avenue. Items include five pliers, five bolt bags, five tool pouches, a concrete saw, five harnesses, tie reels and five side cutters worth $3,615.
In other crime:
- An air conditioner worth $2,500 was stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2600 block of South Roxboro Street.
- A Huffy bicycle was stolen Saturday from a house in the 1700 block of East Cornwallis Road. Damage to a patio door was estimated at $200.
- Justin McCormick, 24, of Tripoli Drive was arrested Saturday and charged with second-degree kidnapping, injury to real and personal property, misdemeanor child abuse and attempted breaking or entering. McCormick was released the same day from the Durham County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
- Antoinette Allen, 22, of Athens Street was arrested Monday and charged with illegally possessing food stamps, obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny. Allen was released the next day from the Durham County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
