Construction worker falls 10 feet in Chapel Hill
A construction worker in Chapel Hill fell about 10 feet off a concrete pillar Wednesday afternoon.
The Chapel Hill Fire Department responded to the call about 3:36 p.m. at 336 W. Rosemary St. When they arrived, fire crews found the worker who fell approximately 10 feet from a concrete pillar onto the top floor of the construction site.
Three units from Chapel Hill Fire Rescue, Chapel Hill Police Department, and Orange County EMS responded to the call.
Fire personnel extricated the victim from the scene and lowered the victim using Tower 73 Aerial apparatus. The rescue effort took about 35 minutes.
The victim was transported by Orange County EMS to UNC-Hospitals. There is no word on the victim's condition.
