The Duke women’s basketball team will have to wait another year for a chance to end its string of four consecutive losses in the regional finals of the NCAA Tournament.

Top-seeded Notre Dame went on a 14-5 run to start the second half, then pulled away while shooting 62.1 percent from the floor in the second half for an 87-76 victory in the Norfolk Regional on Tuesday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Irish All-American Skylar Diggins, the regional most valuable player, finished with 24 points after sitting out more than seven minutes of the first half with foul trouble.

Junior guard Tricia Liston led the Blue Devils (33-3) with 19 points, while Haley Peters added 15.
