Man accused of assault
DURHAM – Walter Johnson, 53, of East Pilot Street, was arrested Feb. 28 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female and communicating threats. He was in the Durham County Jail Wednesday under a $5,000 bond.
In other crime:
- Leonard Maurice Poole, 31, of Jackson Street, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault by strangulation, communicating threats, interfering with emergency communications, possession of marijuana and resisting a public officer. He was released Monday from the Durham County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
- Frank Drayton, 23, was arrested Monday and charged with common law robbery, felony conspiracy and felony larceny. He was released the same day from the Durham County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
- A 33-year-old man told police he was robbed Feb. 27 in the 600 block of West Main Street. He said a laptop computer, sunglasses, bag, $150 and cell phone were taken.
- Burglars hit a house Feb. 27 in the 2000 block of Angier Avenue and took copper, an air conditioner, stove and plumbing worth $5,150.
