Man, 23, face drugs charges
DURHAM – Everette Levert Fearrington, II, 23, of Clifford Drive, was arrested Monday and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Durham County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
In other crime:
- Cheryl Dent Pontoon, 45, of East Umstead Street, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon (scissors).
- Jon Christian Johnson, 42, of Commerce Street, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault with serious bodily injury. Johnson was in the Durham County Jail Monday without bond.
- Akiem Richarde Luke, 39, of Glengary Court, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault by strangulation, assault on a female and assault in the presence of a minor. Luke was in the Durham County Jail Monday without bond.
Students face drug charges
CHAPEL HILL - Police charged two high school students with possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances Saturday.
Police charged Virginia Rose Crisp, 17, of 119 Virginia Drive, Chapel Hill, with possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II drugs, and manufacture of Schedule II drugs, according to an arrest report.
Schedule II drugs include opiates, codeine and various opiate or codeine-based prescription medications. Crisp allegedly possessed 89 dosage units of Schedule II drugs. A magistrate set her bond at $15,000, and she was transported to the Orange County Jail, according to the arrest report.
Police also charged Michael Alexander Dean Gant, 18, of 1401 Wildwood Drive, Chapel Hill, with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling, delivering or storing a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report.
Gant allegedly possessed 36 grams of marijuana, according to the report.
The pair were arrested at 200 Westminster Drive about 1:45 p.m.
Woman charged with DWI
CHAPEL HILL - Police charged Heather McKenzie Preiss, 53, of 5208 Silkwood Drive, Durham, with driving while impaired, having an open container of alcohol, and failure to drive on the right side of a highway Saturday, according to an arrest report. .
Police arrested Preiss on Hillsborough Street.
She allegedly registered a blood alcohol level of .23 on an Intoxilyzer breath test.
