Section of Purefoy Road to close briefly
RALEIGH — Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Purefoy Road in Orange County this week to install storm drain pipe as part of the South Columbia Street enhancement project.
Purefoy Road will be closed to through traffic from South Columbia Street to Mason Farm Road, Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.
Driveway access to homes on Purefoy Road will be maintained throughout the closure, and property owners will be able to access Purefoy Road from Mason Farm Road only. The intersection of Purefoy Road and South Columbia Street will be.
Message boards will notify motorists of the closure and alternate routes. Local traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes:
From N.C. 86/South Columbia Street, take Mason Farm Road to Purefoy Road.
From U.S. 15-501, take Mason Farm Road to Purefoy Road.
Road closure in Chatham this week
RALEIGH -- A section of Old Graham Road north of Pittsboro in Chatham County will be closed this week as an N.C. Department of Transportation pipe replacement project takes place. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday until 8 a.m. Feb. 11 between U.S. 64 and Russells Chapel Road.
Message boards are in place to let drivers know about the closure. Vehicles will be detoured around the project site by using Russells Chapel Road, U.S. 15/501, U.S. 64 Business and N.C. 87.
