UPS store robbed
DURHAM – A United Parcel Service (UPS) store in Durham was robbed Wednesday.
Police got a call about 2:52 p.m. at the UPS store at 811 Ninth St., police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said. A man dressed all in black and wearing a mask robbed the store at gunpoint. No one was hurt, she said.

In other crime:
- A grandmother’s ashes were reported stolen Jan. 4 during a home burglary in the 1700 block of West Markham Avenue. Also taken were jewelry and a jewelry box, television, router and modem, with a total value of $1,001.
- Town & Country service station on East Club Boulevard was robbed Jan. 2. A cell phone and wallet were taken.
- Three rifles, two pistol magazines, ammunition and a gun case were stolen Jan. 4 from a house in the 3800 Zenith Place. Also take were jewelry and four Morgan silver dollars. The property’s value was estimated at $13,875.
- World Overcomers Christian Church on Holloway Street was burglarized Jan. 2. Items stolen include a refrigerator, two ceiling fans, an electric range, three sinks, a heating-air conditioning unit, copper fitting and wiring and copper pipes. The property was valued at $12,150.
- A 29-year-old man said he was robbed Jan. 2 in the 2300 block of Dezern Place. His wallet, $100, credit cards and keys were stolen.
- Tiger-eye earrings were among property stolen Jan. 2 from a house in the 2900 block of Sparger Road. Also taken were two televisions, a jar of coins, jewelry, camera, MP3 player and watch worth $7,214.
- A rape in the 5500 block of Carey Place was reported to police Dec. 30.
- A Honda and three scooters worth $2,640 were stolen Jan. 3 in the 1000 block of Leon Street.
- A 63-year-old woman said she was robbed Jan. 3 at a home in the 1700 block of Forest Road. Reported stolen were $500 and a carry-on bag.
- Burglars hit a house Dec. 31 in the 1300 block of Hudson Avenue and took a check and $900.
