Durham man charged after gun, cocaine seized
DURHAM – A Durham County Sheriff’s Office investigation into illegal narcotic sales led to the arrest Wednesday of a man on Junction Street.
Deputies charged Dwight Allen Judd Jr., 24, with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Investigators searching Judd’s home reported that they found a stolen Ruger P95 9mm pistol, 11 grams of crack cocaine and several oxycodone and Percocet pills. They also seized a Remington rifle and $495 cash.
He was booked into the Durham County Jail, but released just a few hours later after posting $100,000 bond.
“My deputies have seized six stolen and illegally possessed guns in the last six weeks,” said Sheriff Mike Andrews. “Illegal narcotics, firearms and violence often go hand-in-hand, and I could not be prouder of the work my deputies are doing to help make our community safer.”
