Woman charged with embezzlement
DURHAM -- Erin Nicole Potts-Kant, 32, of Chapel Hill, was arrested Friday on an embezzlement charge.
The charges stem from the alleged misuse of Duke University procurement cards that were in her name while she was an employee of the Duke University Health System.
She allegedly used the cards for $14,616.34 in merchandise from Amazon.com, Target, Walmart, and TigerDirect between Dec. 12, 2008, and Nov. 6, 2012.
She was released on an unsecured bond of $10,000.
Drug charges lodged against woman
DURHAM -- Lisa Ann Bostic, 50, of the 1700 block of Robinhood Road in Durham, was arrested Thursday on drug charges.
Bostic was charged with selling cocaine, delivering cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place to sell a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.
She is being held under a $30,000 secured bond.
Georgia man charged with rape
DURHAM -- Joshua D. Logan, 62, of Georgia, was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree rape, second-degree sexual offense and second-degree kidnaping.
The offenses were allegedly committed March 3.
Logan is being held at the Durham County Detention Facility under a $750,000 secured bond.
Person man charged in break-in
DURHAM -- Scottie L. McCarson, 42, of Person County, was arrested Saturday on charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to real property, injury to personal property and safe-cracking.
The charges stem from a March 18 incident in which he allegedly broke into a storage shed at 2804 Bahama Road and stole a wooden dowel, and destroyed the shed latch. He also allegedly opened and entered a safe at a bar at that same address, and allegedly caused damage to an ATM there. He also allegedly stole two beers, two cash register keys and damaged the front and back door.
He is being held at the Durham County Detention Facility under a $15,000 secured bond.
Marijuana in prison charged
DURHAM -- Hezakiah McIntosh, 21, of the 3600 block of Play Gate Lane in Durham, was charged Saturday with the possession of a controlled substance – marijuana - at a prison or on a jail premises.
He is being held under a $2,500 secured bond.
Drug charges filed against Raleigh woman
DURHAM -- Beverly Murray, 17, of the 800 block of South Meadow Road in Raleigh, was arrested on Thursday on drug charges.
Murray is charged with the possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance, or two individually packaged bags of heroin, a Schedule I controlled substance; possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule III substance, or suboxone; for maintaining a dwelling place for keeping and selling controlled substances; for possession of drug paraphernalia; and possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I substance, or eight syringes of heroin.
She is being held at the Durham County Detention Facility in lieu of $25,000 in bail.
Man charged with embezzling
DURHAM -- Gregory L. Sumner, 27, of the 5000 block of Loyal Place in Durham, was arrested on charges of larceny by an employee.
Sumner is charged with embezzling and converting to his own use $519.26 while an employee of Walgreens.
He was released under a $3,000 unsecured bond.
Man faces drug charges
DURHAM -- Jamarr Kasheen Wright, 38, of the 600 block of Homeland Avenue in Durham, was arrested Saturday on drug charges.
Wright was allegedly in possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, or three rocks of cocaine; in possession of drug paraphernalia; of carrying a concealed weapon; and the possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce.
He is being held in the Durham County Detention Facility under a $25,000 secured bond. He’s scheduled to appear at the Durham County Courthouse Tuesday.
He also has charges of failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a revoked license and for having a canceled, revoked, or suspended tag. He’s set to appear at the Orange County Courthouse on April 17.
