An Apex man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and delivering heroin in connection with the August death of a 24-year-old Durham woman.
Officers with the U.S. Marshals Eastern District Violent Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday arrested Kane Conrad Graves, 27, at the Wake County Courthouse. He was taken to the Durham County jail and placed under a $600,000 bail.
He is charged with the death of Margaret Jones, 24, of Durham. Jones was found dead in her apartment on Ninth Street on Aug. 13. She apparently died from an overdose of heroin, according to an autopsy report.
Investigators took out indictments against Graves this week after receiving the final findings from the medical examiner’s office and following discussions with the Durham County District Attorney’s Office.
