Raleigh’s latest budget included $6.7 million in pay increases across the city, with the biggest and most highly touted raises going to members of the city’s police and fire departments. For 25 years Paul Blankinship has collected artifacts, maps and photographs to present to fair goers a collective memory of 165 years of NC State Fair history. This year, after what happens to be the 150th fair, Blankinship will pack up the small museum for the last time.
