National Weather Service issues winter storm warning

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for an area of central and southeastern North Carolina including Durham that starts at noon Tuesday and ends at noon on Wednesday.
Central and southeast portions of central North Carolina, including Durham and Chatham counties, could get three to five inches of snow accumulation, with the possibility of heavier amounts in some areas.
The snow is expected to fall Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning, with the heaviest snow likely to fall between 3 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday.
