Wendy Scott, a North Carolina Central University law school professor since 2006, will be the new dean at the Mississippi College School of Law on Aug. 11.

Scott served as NCCU's associate dean for academic affairs from 2009 to 2012. Before moving to Durham, she was a professor at Tulane University for 17 years. She's a graduate of Harvard University and New York University Law School.

She's the second woman to lead the Baptist-affiliated Mississippi College's law school.
