Day of remembrance for murder victims planned
The Durham chapter of Parents of Murdered Children will hold an event later this month to remember children who were victims of homicide.
The “Take A Stand Against Violence” event will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 25 on the steps of downtown Durham’s new Justice Building at 519 S. Dillard St.
A brief program will be presented, along with the viewing of Durham’s Parents of Murdered Children wall.
Durham Mayor Pro Tempore Cora-Cole McFadden will be guest speaker.
The event is open to the public.
Sept. 25 was established as a National Day or Remembrance for Murder Victims by Congress in 2007.
