A while back a good friend of mine, Scott, who enjoys cooking as much as I do, told me that he could no longer keep his back issues of Fine Cooking magazine and other food and wine magazines because the piles were getting out of hand. When Scott asked if I would be interested in the magazines I jumped at the opportunity. Soon, box-upon-box of his magazines filled my office.

Since 1922, the restaurant on the south side of Franklin has been a go-to spot for brunch, a place to take visiting parents and a bar for a late-night drink. The ownership group has put the restaurant on the market with the hopes that the new owners will keep it through the restaurant’s 100th anniversary.

We give directions for making green olive tapenade from scratch, but you can sub with a jarred brand for speed. Then, pop a bottle of wine – one of our choices here – and dinner is ready.
