Winter Walk for The Homeless is Saturday
DURHAM -- The 4th Annual Open Table Ministry Winter Walk For The Homeless will be Saturday along the American Tobacco Trail, starting at Solite Park on Fayetteville Road in Durham. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the Winter Walk will begin at 1 p.m.
The 3-mile walk is held to raise awareness of the problem of homelessness in Durham and Orange counties and to raise funds to help those in need. Music and refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk until 3:30 p.m.
Dress in comfortable clothes and walking shoes. All participants are welcome. The course is handicap accessible. For information, email Dina Jones at

Anniversary at Paynes Chapel A.M.E.
HILLSBOROUGH -- Paynes Chapel A.M.E. Church will celebrate its 165th church anniversary on Sunday. Paynes Chapel pastor, the Rev. Milton Battle, will deliver the 11 a.m. anniversary message. Lunch will be served after the service. At 2:30 p.m., the Men's Choir from the Orange Correctional Center in Hillsborough will perform. Everyone is invited. Paynes Chapel is at the intersection of NC 57 and Schley Road.

Love and relationships program at White Rock Baptist
DURHAM -- Titus Women and Gideon Guys Ministries of White Rock Baptist Church will host a program for both genders at 9 a.m. Feb. 1 at the church, 3400 Fayetteville St. Breakfast will be served.

Deacons, deaconess and trustee day at Cain’s Chapel
HILLSBOROUGH -- Cain’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Deacon, Deaconess and Trustee Day worship service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 2001 St. Mary’s Road. The Rev. School of the Arts students in concert at UCCH Sunday
CHAPEL HILL — Violist Rachyl Duffy and pianist James Rice will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at United Church of Chapel Hill, 1321 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Admission is free. An offering will be collected to support the work of the Alamance-Orange Prison Ministries. The duo, both students at North Carolina School of the Arts, will perform works by Bach, Brahms, Shostakovich and Paganini. Duffy is a member of the Winston-Salem Symphony. Rice is a graduate student studying collaborative piano.
