Play, panel discussion on Holocaust
DURHAM -- New York actress Susan Stein will perform her one-woman play “Etty” at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Levin Jewish Community Center, 1937 West Cornwallis Road.

“Etty” is based on the letters and diaries of 29-year-old Dutch Jew Etty Hillesum. The 45-minute performance will be followed by a panel discussion with Stein; Harold Kudler, who is on the board of directors of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and is chair of the American Psychoanalytic Associations Soldiers and Veterans Initiative; Peter Stein, a sociologist at the UNC Institute on Aging and member of the Holocaust Speakers Bureau; and Beth Berman, a translator whose work has focused on the German resistance to Hitler.
