Southern Ambassadors concert at Bahama Baptist
BAHAMA -- The Southern Ambassadors, a gospel quartet from Goldsboro, will perform at 5 p.m. Sunday at Bahama Baptist Church, 7917 Willardville Station Road. Their most recent CD is “Hope is Dawning.”
The Rev. Wes McMurray is pastor and Christopher Clark is minister of music and worship at Bahama Baptist. A love offering will be taken.

Family and Friends service at St. John’s
DURHAM -- St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 917 Onslow St., will celebrate Family and Friends Month during its 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday. Brunch will be served after the service. The Rev. Robert L. Daniels is pastor.

NCCU professor to deliver sermon at North East Baptist
DURHAM -- James Edward Osler II will deliver his initial sermon at 4 p.m. April 6 at North East Baptist Church, 3204 N.C. 55. Chicken dinner Saturday at Ellis Chapel Church
BAHAMA -- Ellis Chapel Church, 2516 Levy Lane in Bahama, will hold a barbecue chicken dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost for adults is $8; children ages 4-10 eat for $4; free for children under age 4. Eat in or take out.

Pastor’s anniversary at New Life Tabernacle
MEBANE –A Pastor’s 29th Anniversary Celebration Banquet will be held for Apostle Dorothy L. Torain from 5 to 7 p.m. April 26 at the New Life Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, 711 West Holt St. in Mebane. Tickets for the  banquet are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Reading rescheduled at Hillsborough Presbyterian
HILLSBOROUGH – Mebane author E. Susan Bauer’s reading from her book, “Choosing Africa,” has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. April 6 at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Tryon St. Her reading in March was canceled because of inclement weather. Bauer’s book is about the six years she spent teaching and traveling in Africa in the 1990s. A reception will follow the reading.

Free investing workshop by Abounding in Grace
DURHAM -- Abounding in Grace Christian Church will host a free workshop on “The Power of Investing” from 10 a.m. to noon April 5 at the La Quinta Inn meeting room, 4414 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd.
The workshop is geared to adults of all ages and finances. Reservations are requested. Pastor Calvin Suiter will lead the workshop.
