Youth program Sunday at Mt. Zoar Missionary Baptist

DURHAM -- The Youth Department of Mt. Zoar Missionary Baptist Church, 2400 Cheek Road, will sponsor a “ 100 Tots to Teens” youth program at 3 p.m. Sunday. Special guests will be youth groups from New Calvary Baptist Church and Antioch Baptist Church.

Citywide/Countryside Youth Revival July 22-23

DURHAM – The Durham County Youth Missionary Department will present its Citywide/Countryside Youth Revival at 7 p.m. nightly July 22-23 at Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2806 Page Road in Morrisville. The theme is “Break Every Chain!” inspired by Psalm 107:10-16.

The guest speaker July 22 is Minister Vaxaeadrene Allen of Lattisville Grove Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills. The guest speaker July 23 is the Rev. Kori Jones, chaplain at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington and former community and black campus minister at Duke University.

Other participants include the Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church Puppet Ministry (Durham), Cedar Grove Church’s Puppets for the Soul (Durham), and Poplar Grove AME’s Anointed Vessels (Greensboro). Music ministry by Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist and Church of the Apostolic Revival (Durham). The Durham County Youth Missionary Department is a department of the Woman’s Baptist Home and Foreign Missionary Convention of North Carolina and part of the Durham County Missionary Union.

The Durham County Missionary Union is composed of several Durham County-based churches that meet regularly to promote missionary work, Christian education, leadership, fellowship, and Godly service among adults, young adults, and youth.

New pastor at Temple Baptist Church

DURHAM -- Temple Baptist Church welcomes its new senior pastor this week. The Rev. Mark Mofield will be installed during the 11 a.m. service on Sunday at the church, 4504 Sterling Drive. Mofield previously served at First Baptist Church of Elon. He is a graduate of Duke Divinity School.

Rescue Mission choir to sing at Angier Avenue Baptist

DURHAM -- The combined Ladies’ and Men’s Victory Choir of the Durham Rescue Mission will provide special music during the 11 a.m. worship service July 21 at Angier Avenue Baptist Church, 2101 Angier Ave.

The Rev. David Cash of the Durham Rescue Mission will be the guest speaker. Also on July 21, there will be a special evening service at 5:30 p.m. with “Elvis” (Armando Angus), who will provide worship in song with the gospel songs made popular by Elvis Presley. Pastor Jim Baggett will preach.

Immediately after the worship service, the congregation will go to Joe’s Diner across the street from church. Everyone is invited.

Food give-away July 20 at West Durham Baptist

DURHAM -- West Durham Baptist Church, 1901 Athens St., will resume the Open-Market Food Give-away from 10 a.m. to noon July 20 in the fellowship hall. The community is invited. Bring your own shopping bags.

Revival at Cain’s Chapel Missionary Baptist July 24-26

HILLSBOROUGH -- Cain’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Revival at 7 p.m. nightly July 24-26. The guest preacher on July 24 will be the Rev. Willie Mosley, pastor of Evans Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wake Forest.

On July 25, the guest preacher is the Rev. T.C. Nicholson, pastor of Glenn’s Grove and Jones Grove Missionary Baptist churches in Hillsborough; and on July 26, the Rev. G. I. Allison, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro.

Young adult retreat, Rainbow Tea at White Rock Baptist

DURHAM -- White Rock Baptist Church will hold its Young Adult YAM Summer retreat from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 20 in the fellowship hall, 3400 Fayetteville St.

VBS at Mt. Olive Baptist

PITTSBORO – Mt. Olive Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. July 21-26. The theme is “Colossal Coaster World.” VBS is for children ages 3 to 15.
