At Wilson Library, a marriage of visual and literary art
Aug 3, 2008
In the heart of Mexico, books and art are bound together under the leadership of, would you believe, Durham native Ambar Past. Elsewhere, in little known places, people are artistically recording all sorts of literature in a similar style. This exhibition, organized by Teresa Chapa, Latin American and Iberian resources librarian, singles out Argentina, Cuba and Mexico, to show how handmade book crafting is flowering into an important art form where artists are finding their voices and being heard.
