Art Guild exhibit anchors this year's Art Walk
Apr 13, 2008
Last Sunday began at the Durham Art Guild with Dave Alsobrooks' portrait of Dick Cheney. Titled "The Statesman," the phrase "Go F--- Yourself" was emblazoned in silver beads over Cheney's head, and was an actual quote the Vice President made on June 21, 2004. Before the day was over, I had traveled around downtown during the Downtown Durham Art Walk, and saw painters, like Eduardo Lapetina on the first floor of the Snow Building, Cameron Johnson at 212 W. Main St., J'Nai A. Willingham at 213 W. Main St. and Maria Britton at Durham Arts Place, 305 E. Chapel Hill St.
