Through an Alford plea in which the Durham novelist refused to admit guilt, Peterson pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge for killing his wife Kathleen Peterson. Lori Campbell and Candace Zamperini, Kathleen Peterson's sisters made emotional statements following the plea.
