The Grammy’s have embraced Hip Hop and R&B for its 2018 nominations. Jay-Z has earned eight nominations while Kendrick Lamar picked up seven. Other nominees include; Childish Gambino, Bruno Mars and Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee.
Eric Church performed for his fans at the Las Vegas country music festival two nights before the bullets flew, killing 58 and wounding hundreds. He sang a song Monday night at the Grand Ole Opry that he wrote for one of those fans, one of the 58 who died.
Tom Petty’s career spanned 40 years during which time he released 13 studio albums with his band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, three solo albums, two Mudcrutch albums, and two albums with the Traveling Wilburys, which also included Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne. He was nominated for 18 Grammy awards and won three.

The Glorifying Vines Sisters got on a plane for the first time in August to travel to a festival performance in Lugano, Switzerland with the Music Maker Relief Foundation. The gospel group will be performing at Wide Open Bluegrass Friday night.

PineCone, the organization that produces Wide Open Bluegrass in conjunction with the International Bluegrass Music Association, is providing guides to the visually impaired to the outdoor festival on request.
