KONTEK Systems,  an audio/video systems integrator based in North Carolina's Research Triangle area that provides design and installation services, recently donated a NED projector valued at $900 to El Futuro.

At El Futuro,  the Latino community receives mental health and substance abuse treatment delivered in a way that honors individual and empowers the Latino community. El Futuro provides clinical services in Durham, Carrboro and Siler City.

Fred Konhaus  founding principal at KONTEK, recently attended an “Encounter El Futuro” event and

decided to donate the projector that  he noted on  a wish list.  This projector will help El Futuro provide teaching and training.

"At KONTEK we take the maxim ‘think globally act locally’ to heart,” Konhaus said. “90 percent of our clients are within half an hour of our home in downtown Durham. KONTEK is committed to giving back within the community that we serve – in fact, the majority of the organizations that we support are within walking distance of our office. We are inspired to help El Futuro because of their incredible drive and passion to help the community they serve,” Konhaus said.

The mission of El Futuro is to strengthen the whole community by providing and advancing bilingual and culturally informed behavioral health treatment for underserved Spanish speaking individuals and families. Learn more at its website, www.elfuturo-nc.org.
