Volunteer of the week
Volunteer for 2 years
B.J. Boyarsky volunteers with Senior PharmAssist as a Medicare insurance counselor. She helps seniors and people with disabilities understand their insurance benefits, the choices they have and the timing of those choices. Boyarsky takes a very complicated subject and makes it understandable to folks coming from all walks of life.
Boyarsky is a retired educator, and her teaching skills are “special and extremely important”. In the seven weeks of Medicare’s annual election period, they were able to help over 800 people review their Medicare drug and health insurance. During this short period, Boyarsky’s “concern for making sure people get clear and objective information about their choices is demonstrated by her generosity of time”, says Dyana Morgan, community services director.
Thank you, B.J. Boyarsky, for serving the senior and disabled community of Durham in such a caring way!
