Volunteer of the Week, May 11
Mothers and Their Children (MATCH)
A natural born leader, Becky has a heart of gold for volunteering with a population that many would like to ignore. She consistently helps MATCH meet its goals by supervising visits of children with their incarcerated mothers, providing transportation to and from the prison, and serving as a board member and advocate. Her friendly nature and encouraging words help mothers and children interact and make the most of their three-hour visits. She has even opened her home to out-of-town families so they can visit with a mother.
Like a grandmother to the MATCH children, she often provides gifts for the children at the end of their visits. She and her husband pick up food donations, recruit new volunteers and share the vision with the church and community.
Becky Swanson, thank you for having a special place in your heart for these children!
