Help someone else feel loved by volunteering. Check out opportunities on www.handsontriangle.org or contact Lynn Odom at 919-613-5105.
-- Do you have time on Fridays during the day? Can you lift furniture? Help move a family from homelessness to home. Load a truck in Raleigh and unload it in Durham. Or sponsor a family by donating the $500 to rent the truck and pay for gas.
-- Are you good at finding silent auction items? Cornucopia Cancer Support Center needs help with their Auction Committee. The event is March 8. Contact Will Pulley for more information (919) 401-9333.
-- Cancer has affected us all. Help with the Road to Recovery Program by driving someone to and from treatment who does not have a car.
-- Benevolence Farm, which provides a chance of a new life for women leaving the prison system, is looking for an intern to help with marketing and communications projects. 2-4 hours per week minimum.
-- Change the Triangle is a group of volunteers 21+ who do projects each week to help others in the Greater Triangle. Get involved by being on the Leadership Team.
-- The next General Volunteer Orientation is March 12 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Representatives from Crayon2Calculators and the John Avery Boys & Girls Clubs will be on hand. (700 W. Main St., Durham)
-- We’re gearing up for the Great Human Race scheduled for April 6. If you would like to benefit almost 100 non-profits at one time, help the Volunteer Center for a few hours that Saturday morning.
