The Pinhook is a bar, music venue and community space for people to gather which has been delighting patrons since 2008.  It is one of Durham’s many popular bars and venues for live music, dance parties, hanging out and collaborative and creative events. According to their website, The Pinhook is also a self-proclaimed “safe space for lgbtqi folks, people of color, punks, lawyers, cyclists, trivia nerds and everyone else.” It delivers on Durham’s brand in that it is diverse, open and accepting.

Pinhook is an ideal spot for those who don’t fit into any traditional mold. Not only does the Pinhook have free wifi, but it and also has Tekken, Ms. Pac Man and Galaga arcade games in addition to an ATM.  Visitors can relax on the patio with a beer, or participate in open mic nights, dance parties, karaoke, trivia, square dances, movie nights and more.  The Pinhook prides itself on featuring great local band and national acts on the weekends along with nightly drink specials.

Insider Tip: Guests can bring their own food as well as dogs into the venue.
