Volunteer of the Week
NC Museum of Life and Science
Volunteer for 2 years
As a former science teacher, Connie Tice volunteers in the Magic Wings Butterfly House on the museum grounds. Two mornings a week, she prepares the tropical conservatory for opening to the public by watering the many plants, cleaning up beds and pathways and feeding the colorful birds. She also acts as a docent, answering questions about the 1,000 butterflies in the exhibit.
Dedicated and reliable, Connie logs significantly more volunteer hours than many of the museum’s volunteers. She tackles physically strenuous and dirty jobs with a smile! Then, she passes on her knowledge to the many visitors of the Butterfly House.
Thank you, Connie Tice, for working tirelessly in the Magic Wings Butterfly House and sharing of yourself!
