Exploring Durham

Mar. 09, 2013 @ 11:33 AM

As the days get longer and the weather starts to improve, golfers get excited about taking out their cleats and polishing their clubs.  Durham is home to 10 golf courses, each with a different style of play to suit championship golfers and weekend warriors alike.  With a total of 10 courses, Durham is where great golf happens.

Durham has seven public and semi-private courses.  They are: Crossings Golf Club, Duke University Golf Club, Falls Village, Hillandale Golf Club, Lake Winds Golf Club, Lakeshore Golf Course, Umstead Pines at Willowhaven. There are also three premier private country clubs with championship golf courses: Croasdaile Country Club, Hope Valley Country Club and Treyburn Country Club, each of which may reciprocally honor membership at other clubs.

These courses range from 5,800 to 7,000 yards with pars averaging 71.  Many are lauded for their design, difficulty, and location.
