Volunteer of the week
Museum of Life and Science, Magic Wings Butterfly House
Volunteer for 2 years
Twice a week, Ryan Draper volunteers as a docent in the insectarium of the Magic Wings Butterfly House at the Museum of Life and Science. He enables guests to experience the unique hands-on experience of handling such feared invertebrates as the tarantula spider.
Draper has a positive attitude, a wonderful personality and a deep knowledge of the subject of invertebrates. “He is great to work with and sets a great example of being a contributing member of society, overcoming his physical limitations,” says Leon Bradford, insectarium manager. Because of volunteers like Draper, the museum can provide meaningful opportunities of science learning.
Thank you Ryan Draper for sharing your skills with the patrons of the museum!
