Tommy McNeill of Durham, vice president of the Heart of Carolina Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen Youth Academy, recently spoke to youths about the need to dream big and establish bold goals.

The students in the academy were on a June tour of a flight service station at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. They had an opportunity to climb inside airplanes for a look at the control switches.

McNeill presented a check for $200 to cover expenses, continuing his philanthropy in the area, which, along with his wife, Gail, has included donating 10 Amazon Kindles to Durham Performance Learning Center, a nontraditional high school.
