-- Learn how you can find a volunteer opportunity in Durham. Attend a General Volunteer Orientation on April 15, 5:30 pm, at the Volunteer Center Daylily Conference Room. Reps from the Scrap Exchange, Keep Durham Beautiful and the Salvation Army will be present to answer questions. (700 W. Main St.)

-- Help new mothers learn how to properly use an infant car seat at Welcome Baby.

-- AnimalKind needs someone to help the volunteer coordinator for Durham. Help get people excited about helping the animals.

-- Get some experience doing administrative tasks. Help out around the office of the Durham Economic Resource Center (DERC).

-- Do you know the value of arts in the life of a sick child? Become a Community Volunteer with Arts for Life!

-- Do you enjoy talking with people from all walks of life? Can you assess a person's needs? Become an interviewer for the Inter-Faith Council for Social Services.

-- Are you skilled on the computer? Orange County Disability Council needs volunteers to help adults who have visual impairments with computer education in a classroom setting. April 22-May 15, Tuesday and Thursday, 1-5 p.m. (2551 Homestead Rd.)
